The problem
One of the biggest fighting championships in Slovakia, with event-day traffic between 10,000 and 100,000+ visitors. The previous web developer had failed two years in a row — the site couldn't handle the surge when the live broadcast was on. Fans were locked out of the streaming-partner links at exactly the moment that mattered.
What we did
- 01Took over the project mid-stream and kept WordPress as the base — the platform wasn't the problem; the previous build was.
- 02Rebuilt the architecture so traffic spikes on fight day route cleanly to the live-streaming partner portals.
- 03Fighter pages, fight info, event history — all owned by the in-house team via a CMS they can actually run.
- 04Ongoing blog and editorial content to keep the site warm between events.
Outcome
Event-day traffic now lands where it should.
The team operates the site themselves between events, and the championship has a public surface that holds up under load on the nights that decide the season.
